Intuitive said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently cleared the integration of the company’s Ion Endoluminal System used for robotic-assisted bronchoscopy with mobile cone-beam CT technology from Siemens Healthineers.
Siemens’ Cios Spin mobile imaging C-arm system offers integrated functionality with Ion to provide 2D and 3D imaging during interventional procedures. The companies said this helps physicians gain confidence around refining Ion’s catheter positioning and help improve biopsy tool placement.
Intuitive and Siemens added that this imaging integration could help improve the accuracy of robotic bronchoscopy procedures.
