VIENNA - The U.K. division of Italian PACS firm Ferrania Imaging Technologies has signed an agreement covering northern European distribution of the TraumaCad orthopedic templating software from Orthocrat of Tel Aviv, Israel.
Ferrania will incorporate TraumaCad into its LifeWeb RIS/PACS software. TraumaCad is designed for use in planning orthopedic surgical procedures by enabling surgeons to overlay digital templates of orthopedic devices on top of PACS images.
Ferrania is demonstrating the product in its booth at the European Congress of Radiology. The company expects its first installation in the U.K. to take place in the next several weeks.
The company also reported upcoming installations of its LifeInVision DR 982 digital radiography systems. Three of the systems will be installed in mid-2005 at the Lapeyronie and Arnaud de Villeneuve Hospitals, which are part of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montpellier hospital group in France.
