GE Healthcare has released pediatric application enhancements for its Lunar Prodigy bone density system.
The new enhancements add tools to evaluate the pediatric skeleton relative to a child's body size and skeletal age, in addition to the conventional chronological age comparison, GE said. The Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor introduced the application at this week's annual meeting of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research meeting in Nashville, TN.
In other GE bone density developments, the firm has received a purchase agreement from Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, CA. GE will be providing the hospital with three of its flagship Lunar Prodigy Advance units.
GE has also introduced a body composition reference database to evaluate total body composition in Chinese women.
