Shimadzu brings Safire to UMC Health System

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA has equipped three catheterization labs at University Medical Center (UMC) Health System of Lubbock, TX, with its Safire flat-panel detectors.

The labs, which are located in UMC's new heart center, are the first cath labs to employ Safire in the U.S., according to Shimadzu of Torrance, CA. Safire detectors can record radiographic as well as fluoroscopic images.

More than 40 cardiac Safire installations have been completed worldwide, Shimadzu said.
