Swissray gets FDA nod for flat-panel DR unit

Digital radiography vendor Swissray International has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its ddRFormula flat-panel DR system.

ddRFormula features a C-arm design that incorporates the Elizabeth, NJ-based vendor's FP-5000 detector, which includes an 17 x 17-inch amorphous silicon TFT flat panel from Trixell of Moirans, France, and a Swissray-designed panel protection system. The FP-5000 detector will also be featured in the vendor's ddRCombi family, which is aimed at emergency room environments.
