EOS adds to revenue in 2015

Orthopedic digital imaging developer EOS Imaging increased total revenue by 9% in 2015, despite a 60% decline in sales in its Asia-Pacific region.

The company posted total revenue of 21.8 million euros ($23.5 million U.S.) for 2015, compared with 20.1 million euros ($21.7 million) in 2014. While the company reported selling the same number of its EOS imaging systems -- 44 units -- in both 2015 and 2014, it saw higher revenues from service and consumables in the most recent year.

Total revenue in the Asia-Pacific region plummeted by 60% to 2.1 million euros ($2.3 million) last year, compared with 5.5 million euros ($5.9 million) in 2014. The company blamed a transition in its commercial organization for its sales decline in the Asia-Pacific region, adding that it expects the change will have a "positive impact on results in Japan in 2016."

North American sales rose by 75% to 10.4 million euros ($11.2 million) in 2015, compared with 6 million euros ($6.5 million U.S.) in 2014. In Europe and the Middle East, EOS Imaging recorded 9.2 million euros ($9.9 million) in 2015, compared with 8.6 million euros ($9.3 million) in 2014.

The company also anticipates that it will receive regulatory approval for the EOS system in China in 2016, providing another growth opportunity in the Asia-Pacific region.
