Life sciences firm PerkinElmer will unveil three new flat-panel digital x-ray detectors at the RSNA 2016 meeting later this month in Chicago.
XRpad2 4336 is a second-generation wireless cassette detector for digital radiography applications. It features a 35 x 43-cm imaging area, 100-µm pixel size, a direct deposition cesium iodide (CsI) scintillator, continuous imaging capability at up to 8 frames per second, and a removable, rechargeable battery, according to the vendor. It's suitable for applications such as tomosynthesis, dual-energy subtraction, and image stitching, PerkinElmer said. The company has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for XRpad2 4336 for use in digital radiography and expects to release the detector in January 2017.
Another second-generation wireless cassette detector, XRpad2 3025, offers a 25 x 30-cm imaging area, 100-µm pixel size, a direct deposition CsI scintillator, and continuous imaging capability at up to 10 frames per second, PerkinElmer said. It can also be used in tomosynthesis, dual-energy subtraction, and image stitching applications. As with XRpad2 4336, the vendor has received FDA 510(k) clearance for the use of XRpad2 3025 in digital radiography and will make the detector available in January 2017.
PerkinElmer will also spotlight XRD 4343RF, a radiography and fluoroscopy detector offering frame rates of up to 85 frames per second. Intended for use as a component in radiography, fluoroscopy, and 3D conebeam CT systems, the 43 x 43-cm detector includes a direct-deposited CsI scintillator, according to the firm.
