The American Board of Radiology has hired two new associate executive directors. They will begin their new duties on July 1.
Geoffrey Ibbott, PhD, is former chair of the department of radiation physics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He was also director of Ibbott Lab, which investigated 3D dosimetry techniques such as dosimetry systems for use in MRI-guided radiation therapy.
Dr. James Spies is chief of service and is chairman of the department of radiology at Georgetown University Hospital. He has an active interventional radiology practice specializing in uterine embolization for fibroids, for which he has performed extensive research and is recognized as an international authority.
