Radiation oncology firm Varian Medical Systems has invested in Israel-based company Bend It Technologies.
Bend It Technologies is developing Bendit steerable microcatheters for interventional radiologists who perform minimally invasive peripheral vascular procedures. The microcatheters can deliver diagnostic, embolic, or therapeutic materials into the vasculature, according to the firms.
Bendit catheters have 3D steerability, which offers control of the catheter tip and tip shape to navigate any anatomy, they added.
The catheters already have U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance and the European CE Mark.
