GE Healthcare has launched AMX Navigate, a new portable digital x-ray system that includes a power-assisted telescoping column that aims to reduce the lift force required to position the system.
AMX Navigate's Free Motion column aims to cut lift force by up to 70% and significantly reduce musculoskeletal stress and strain injuries for radiologic technologists.
Research has shown that more than 70% of technologists have musculoskeletal stress and strain injuries during their careers. To address these problems, when designing AMX Navigate GE conducted clinical observational research on a variety of portable x-ray systems.
AMX Navigate has a small footprint to enhance maneuverability and easy positioning. To streamline clinical processes, the system includes a zero-click exam feature that automatically matches a patient to the worklist, as well as an automatic protocol assist feature that selects the appropriate exam protocols for the patient. This eliminates 100% of user interface clicks while helping to ensure that every patient gets the correct exam, according to the company.
Additionally, integrated into AMX Navigate are features like QuickEnhance, which provides one-touch reprocessing for line visualization, and AutoGrid, which allows the image processing time to be completed in less than 10 seconds.
Furthermore, GE's Critical Care Suite 2.0 collection of artificial intelligence algorithms is embedded onto the AMX Navigate platform, automatically identifying critical conditions and assesses endotracheal tube placement. Finally, Quality Care Suite provides onscreen quality checks to the technologist.
