INX Neurovascular Stent garners CE Mark

The INX Neurovascular Stent, designed for the treatment of brain aneurysms, has received CE Mark approval, according to its manufacturer, Medtronic of Minneapolis.

The INX stent can be used in combination with other embolic devices or materials to isolate certain types of aneurysms and reduce or eliminate the threat of expansion or bursting.

The stent and its delivery system incorporate Medtronic AVE’s sinusoidal pattern and special balloon technology for flexibility. The system also uses the company’s Discrete Technology to minimize balloon overhang.

The INX stent provides a treatment alternative for patients who are considered high-risk surgical candidates, the company said.
