CHICAGO - Interventional products provider Parallax Medical has introduced Core-Assure, a bone and vertebral body biopsy kit. The Scotts Valley, CA-based firm said that Core-Assure offers improved core tissue sample quality and allows interventional radiologists to maintain access to the vertebral body for subsequent procedures.
With Core-Assure, interventional radiologists advance a biopsy needle into the vertebral body. After the needle is moved into position, the inner stylet of the needle is replaced by an inner cannula with the kit's funnel tip design to capture the core tissue sample, Parallax said. Core-Assure will be available in the U.S. in late December.
