Hoag Interventional Radiology of Southern California has become the first nonacademic hospital to offer patients treatment with Cleveland, OH-based MediView's XR90 augmented reality (AR) surgical visualization and navigation platform.
The hospital used the system in a minor procedure room rather than a traditional angiography suite or operating room for a spleen procedure, which "demonstrates that the system has far broader clinical utility beyond interventional radiology procedures and can be leveraged in a variety of settings," according to Hoag.
