Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, has completed installations of cardiac electrophysiology (EP) labs at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center in San Francisco and St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston.
The EP labs combine a ceiling-mounted Allura Xper FD10 x-ray system from Philips with the Niobe magnetic navigation system from Stereotaxis of St. Louis. The combined system has capabilities for improved catheter stability for physicians during complex interventional cardiovascular procedures.
The configuration is designed to treat complex lesions and shorten procedure time through reproducible navigation of catheters and guidewires to targeted locations.
