The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared Siemens Healthineers company Varian's IntelliBlate microwave ablation system.
The system is for ablation of soft tissue. It produces spherical ablation zones to direct treatment, and it can be used with a single probe or dual ones, including the firm's Ximitry probe, which features laser disk alignment and LED indicators, Varian said.
