Cardiac gamma camera system, PET/CT enhancements will take center stage for Siemens.
The c.cam features an icon-driven hand controller to aid in automating camera setup, and its Microsoft Windows-based acquisition station has been optimized for cardiology. The product is designed to provide a fast, easy, and cost-effective way to start up a new in-office nuclear cardiology department or to expand existing services, Siemens said. The vendor’s e.soft syngo-based nuclear medicine software is included.
Siemens has also introduced a new biograph family of PET/CT systems, and will spotlight this new technology at the meeting.
The new biograph PET/CT family incorporates performance options to enhance image quality, resolution, and throughput, as well as new IT solutions for multimodality integration. Key new features include a high-resolution PET option, an image quality enhancement, a 6-slice CT biograph companion to existing 2- and 16-slice configurations, and further integration into the Siemens’ Leonardo post-processing IT workplace.
The lutetium oxyorthosilicate (LSO)-based biograph systems are now available with new Hi-REZ technology, which can yield more than 250% improvement in volumetric image resolution, Siemens said. In addition, the firm’s Pico-3D option provides electronics that improve image quality, with up to 70% better count-rate performance under typical scan conditions. Pico-3D technology also optimizes the signal-to-noise ratio and lesion detectability, while offering significant benefits in scanning flexibility across all doses and patient sizes, according to the company.
