Last year was a rough one for PET vendors, who saw sales of expensive scanners decline by 21%. But imaging facilities with scanners already installed are seeing healthy demand for their services, with procedure volume growing 9%.

The story, based on a new market research report by Bio-Tech Systems of Las Vegas, offers a snapshot of a market that has been hurt by the Great Recession, but that continues to demonstrate future potential.
