United Imaging has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its uAI Hyper Deep-Learning Reconstruction (DLR), which aims to reduce noise in FDG-PET images.
uAI Hyper DLR uses a pretrained neural network to extract noise from an original image and subtract them to improve signal-to-noise-ratio and contrast-to-noise ratio, while preserving image consistency.
The upgrade will be deployed to installed molecular imaging systems in the U.S. at no cost to customers per the company's Software Upgrades for Life program.
