Syncor buys Argentine firm Bionuclear

Radiopharmaceutical developer and imaging center operator Syncor International said its Syncor Overseas subsidiary has acquired Bionuclear, an Argentine distributor of new and refurbished medical imaging equipment. Syncor, of Woodland Hills, CA, believes the acquisition will allow the firm to gain a foothold in Argentina.

Syncor also hopes to benefit from the Argentine company’s technical expertise in the service and maintenance of MRI and CT scanners, nuclear medicine gamma cameras, mammography systems, and other imaging equipment.

Bionuclear founders Carlos Lewandowski and Albert Bonabello will continue to oversee Bionuclear’s operations, and will assist Syncor in pursuing growth opportunities throughout Latin America, according to Syncor.
