PET manufacturer Positron reported second-quarter revenues of $2.4 million, more than five times the $449,000 reported in the second quarter of 2001. For the period (end-June 30), the Houston-based vendor had a net loss of $859,000, compared with a net loss of $603,000 in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the six-month period were $3.9 million, compared with $942,000 for the same period a year ago. The net loss for the first two quarters of 2002 was $1.3 million, compared with a net loss of $1.2 million for the first six months of 2001.
The company stated that the profit margins realized on the sales of systems in 2002 were affected by labor and overhead costs that were incurred in the manufacturing process in 2001.
