Multimodality vendor Siemens will feature its hybrid imaging technology in its RSNA booth, including the TruePoint SPECT·CT system and Biograph 64, a 64-slice PET/CT product.
TruePoint SPECT·CT combines the functional sensitivity of SPECT with the anatomical detail of diagnostic six-slice CT, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor. The device is part of the firm's Symbia product family, and its scalable system architecture allows Siemens to offer a variety of models, including multislice CT configurations with speeds of up to 0.6 seconds per rotation.
TruePoint SPECT·CT is targeted toward emergency rooms, hospitals, and outpatient clinics for cancer, cardiac, and neurological applications. The product has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is available now worldwide, the company said.
Siemens said that the capabilities of the modality are further enhanced by available software suites such as its syngo MultiModality Workplace that offer postprocessing and advanced visualization tools. Another tool, syngo TrueD, enables physicians to quickly co-register and compare patient scans from different time points, such as pre- and post-therapy.
Biograph 64 is targeted toward the emergency room, hospital, and outpatient clinic market for cancer, cardiac, and neurological applications, Siemens said. The device has been cleared by U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is available now worldwide, the company said.
