GE Healthcare has introduced its new Optima PET/CT 560 scanner, which features full 2-m head-to-toe body scanning, as well as dose reduction capabilities.
By positioning patients on the table once, clinicians can save as much as 15 minutes per exam and potentially boost scanning efficiency and patient throughput, according to the company.
Optima PET/CT 560 also features GE's Vue Point HD intelligent 3D iterative reconstruction technique to enhance resolution to detect small lesions and increase quantitative accuracy. The system's default PET/CT protocols also are designed to help reduce CT radiation exposure in FDG pediatric exams to meet as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) guidelines.
Optima PET/CT 560 has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is available in the U.S.
