The Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) has named the recipients of the 2011-2013 Wagner-Torizuka Fellowship.
The two-year fellowship is designed to provide extensive training and experience in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging for Japanese physicians in the early stages of their careers.
SNM named the following 2011-2013 fellows:
- Dr. Masayuki Matsuo, PhD, from Kizawa Memorial Hospital in Gifu, whose research focuses on oncology, particularly brain/glioblastoma multiforme. Matsuo is conducting research at the radiation oncology branch of the U.S. National Cancer Institute.
- Dr. Tetsuya Tsujikawa, PhD, from the University of Fukui, whose major fields of interest are neurology and radiology. Tsujikawa is involved with the molecular imaging branch of the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health.
Each will receive an annual stipend of $24,000, according to the organization.
