Fla. university nets $5M nuclear physics grant

Florida State University (FSU) has received a three-year, $5 million grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) for ongoing research in nuclear physics.

The funding will be used for research in experimental nuclear physics and to prepare graduate students for careers in nuclear medicine, industry, defense, homeland security, academia, and basic research.

FSU previously received $4.4 million from the NSF in 2008.
