Siemens Healthcare subsidiary PETNet Solutions has signed an agreement with Eli Lilly to manufacture and distribute Lilly's molecular PET imaging agent Amyvid (florbetapir) in the U.S.
According to Siemens, PETNet is the first company to sign an agreement for the commercial manufacturing and distribution of Amyvid in the U.S., should the product be cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Amyvid currently is under review by the agency.
If Amyvid is cleared for distribution outside the U.S., the companies would consider expanding their commercial agreement to those markets as well.
