The Society of Nuclear Medicine's (SNM) House of Delegates has approved a proposal to change the organization's name to the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging to better reflect its expanding scope in both disciplines.
The vote came during last month's SNM 2012 Mid-Winter Meeting in Orlando, FL. The next step in the name change process is a membership vote, which will take place at the SNM 2012 annual meeting in Miami Beach, FL, in June.
The SNM Mid-Winter Meeting achieved a 17% increase in attendance to approximately 650 physicians, technologists, scientists, laboratory professionals, and medical experts.
