Molecular imaging developer Sofie Biosciences has received a grant of approximately $1.8 million from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The three-year, phase II award from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program will support the development of the first digital chip technology for enhanced synthesis of PET probes for neurobiology applications.
By developing a point-of-care radiosynthesizer that integrates operations for synthesis, purification, and quality control into a benchtop device, scientists and physicians would have access to more than 3,000 PET probes.
