Nuclear medicine research funding available

Funding is now available for targeted radiochemistry and associated technology development for integrated nuclear medicine research and training with human application.

The funding opportunity announcement (FOA) came from the U.S. Department of Energy's Biological and Environmental Research (BER) program and the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB).

The FOA is intended to develop clinically relevant radionuclide imaging biomarkers to individualize and optimize medical care through better diagnostic and theranostic approaches, according to the agencies. It is also intended to improve training opportunities for young scientists and clinicians in translational nuclear medicine.
