With its annual meeting in Baltimore just six weeks away, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) is monitoring this week's civil unrest in the city.
On Friday, SNMMI sent a travel update to its members and prospective attendees stating that the area around the Baltimore Convention Center and Inner Harbor has not been adversely affected by the demonstrations.
"We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and communicating frequently with Baltimore city officials," the communiqué said. "SNMMI will take every precaution to ensure the safety of meeting participants."
The organization plans to post updates as the situation progresses and resolves. The annual meeting is scheduled for June 6-10.
