Shine gets $1M for Mo-99 development

Shine Medical Technologies has been awarded $1 million from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to continue its work on molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) production.

The funds from DOE's National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) are part of a $2 million cooperative agreement, Shine said. The award will be used to support the company's efforts to establish a U.S. supply of Mo-99 that does not use highly enriched uranium.

Shine is entering the final stages of the construction permitting process with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
