Israeli functional imaging technology developer Molecular Dynamics will unveil a whole-body SPECT/CT system based on cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) digital detectors at next week's RSNA 2015 meeting in Chicago.
Valiance X12 offers features such as adaptive image acquisition, which focuses detectors on specific organs, along with combined multiple isotope and online dynamic imaging capabilities; these functionalities enable users to tailor the imaging process to individual patients and to collect more data from each scan, according to the vendor. They can also yield absolute quantification for therapy planning and monitoring, Molecular Dynamics said.
The company believes that its imaging platform and proprietary imaging algorithms can deliver results comparable to PET, but at a lower cost.
