Royal Philips plans to collaborate with Varian Medical Systems and Ion Beam Applications (IBA) Worldwide to build a new oncology research and training center in Biopolis, an international biomedical research hub in Singapore.
The Advanced Medicine Oncology Centre is a project between Philips and the Singapore Institute of Advanced Medicine Holdings, and will offer oncology research, training, and treatment. The center will feature Philips' Ingenia MR, IQon spectral CT, and Vereos PET/CT scanners, as well as Varian's ProBeam Compact proton therapy system and IBA's Cyclone Kiube technology, which allows for onsite production and use of PET radiopharmaceuticals and tracers.
The center is expected to open in stages starting in 2018, Royal Philips said.
