GE Healthcare and Canadian radioisotope production technology developer ARTMS Products have formed a strategic partnership to enhance the production and processing of radioisotopes on GE's PETtrace 800 series of medical cyclotrons.
Under the agreement, ARTMS will supply and install the first of its Quantm99 Irradiation System (QIS) radioisotope production systems in Europe, and it will work with GE to expand the number of available isotopes produced on the PETtrace 800 platform. QIS integrates with the PETtrace 800 cyclotron to provide an alternate, nonreactor supply of medical isotopes such as technetium-99m, copper-64, gallium-68, and zirconium-89, according to ARTMS.
In the future, both companies intend to offer the Quantm99 system to new and existing PETtrace cyclotron customers worldwide, ARTMS said.
