Sotera Health has signed an agreement to sell its Nordion medical isotope business to BWX Technologies (BWXT), a U.S. government nuclear components supplier based in Lynchburg, VA.
The deal facilitates BWXT's entry into the medical isotope market via Nordion's licensing infrastructure, trained personnel, and two production centers.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of this year, subject to required Canadian and U.S. regulatory reviews and approvals, according to BWXT.
