The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) will host a special session on the training path for nuclear medicine physicians during its annual meeting in Philadelphia next month.
The forum, created by Dr. Satoshi Minoshima, PhD, and Dr. Richard L. Wahl, will highlight the need for training to ensure the most appropriate use of nuclear medicine while maintaining high-quality clinical practice, as well as strategies for training on both the U.S. and international fronts.
In addition, scheduled speakers and their topics include the following:
- Dr. M. Elizabeth Oates will address the integration of general imaging training.
- Dr. Don Yoo will outline the training of nuclear medicine physicians for value-driven practices.
- Dr. Andrew M. Scott will offer thoughts on creating an international training standard.
- Dr. George Segall will talk about innovation in training and board certification.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 23, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. It also will be available through the SNMMI's virtual meeting portal.
