Canon Medical Systems USA will unveil a new PET/CT scanner, called Cartesion Prime, at the upcoming RSNA 2019 meeting in Chicago.
The digital PET/CT scanner is based on Canon's silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) PET detector and Aquilion Prime SP CT detector technology. The new scanner will offer several features, including the following:
- A silicon photomultiplier design with one-to-one coupling
- Fast time-of-flight resolution to improve image quality
- A large axial field-of-view to optimize the scanner's efficiency
- Air-cooling technologies for better long-term maintenance
