ARTMS has produced multiple curies of gallium-68 (Ga-68) after a two-hour bombardment on a U.S. cyclotron that has been used mainly for F-18 FDG production.
ARTMS' Quantm irradiation system will allow commercial nuclear pharmacies to meet the increasing demand for Ga-68, the firm said. ARTMS is also discussing with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Division of Drug Shortages how the firm can solve the projected Ga-68 shortage in the U.S.
ARTMS also said it plans to continue developing cyclotron-produced Ga-68 and other medical isotopes while also pursuing multiple regulatory approvals.
