Medical imaging accessory supplier Biodex Medical Systems plans to lay off about a third of its nonunion employees, according to a report filed last month with the state's labor department.
The layoffs will affect 41 of the company's 127 employees, mostly at its 120,000-sq-ft facility located in Shirley on Long Island. The layoffs are scheduled to take place during a two-week period beginning August 6, according to the filing. The company cited economic reasons for the layoff.
Biodex was acquired in September 2020 by Mirion Technologies, a radiation monitoring firm headquartered in San Ramon, CA.
