London-based company Serac Imaging Systems is highlighting the start of clinical testing for its Seracam camera at Ohio State University, its first U.S. site.
Seracam is a portable hybrid gamma-optical camera for medical imaging. The clinical tests aim to compare gamma images obtained with the camera compared to those obtained via a current gamma camera for nuclear imaging. Images will be taken from the same patient on the same day.
The company said some applications to be explored with the camera include small-organ imaging and sentinel lymph node localization. The study is expected to run for about six months and involve 25 patients.
Serac said the U.S. site is the second to start an investigator-sponsored study in this area.
