Fonar wins New York install

MRI vendor Fonar of Melville, NY, has signed an agreement with Health Diagnostics of New York City for its Fonar Upright Multi-Position MRI systems, the company said.

Health Diagnostics has ordered six of the devices, to be used in its network of 28 diagnostic imaging centers in California, New York, Florida, and Georgia.

Fonar's Upright Multi-Position MRI scanner allows patients to be scanned in a weight-bearing position, which is particularly helpful for spine patients, and the scanner's open design works well for claustrophobic patients, according to the company.
