MRI developer Bruker has introduced BioSpec 150/11, an ultrahigh-field MRI scanner for preclinical research.
Employing Bruker's 15-tesla UltraShield Refrigerated (USR) magnet technology, BioSpec 150/11 can also be used with Bruker's 15-tesla MRI CryoProbe for high-resolution neuroimaging, according to the vendor. Bruker expects to deliver the first system to Vanderbilt University in 2011.
Scientists at Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science will collaborate with Bruker to further develop ultrahigh-field MRI applications and techniques for molecular imaging studies in cancer biology, neuroscience, and metabolism studies, as well as to advance translational imaging research, Bruker said.
