MRI accessories developer IRadimed said it expects to achieve revenue of $23.9 million to $24.3 million for the 2017 calendar year.
If that projection is accurate, this year's results would be considerably lower than the revenue of approximately $32.6 million for 2016. Of that anticipated year-end total, IRadimed said its backlog would account for approximately $12.5 million. Audited 2016 numbers will be released on February 6.
By comparison, the company had revenue of $31.6 million in 2015, which more than doubled the 2014 revenue of $14.7 million.
For the first quarter of 2017, IRadimed forecasted revenue of $5.2 million to $5.3 million, with approximately $300,000 coming from its backlog, compared with approximately $3.2 million of first-quarter 2016 revenue from backlog.
IRadimed also noted that in December it began shipping its new MRI-compatible patient vital signs monitoring system to European distributors.
