Siemens completes 1st install of its Magnetom Altea

Siemens Healthineers has installed its Magnetom Altea 1.5-tesla MRI scanner at Northern Arizona Radiology's imaging center in Flagstaff, AZ.

Magnetom Altea has a 70-cm magnet bore and features several new technologies designed to improve scanning efficiency:

• BioMatrix patient personalization technology, which automatically adapts scanner protocols to patient anatomy using embedded sensors and specialized radiofrequency coils
• Day optimizing throughput technology, which automates exams to support standardized and reproducible scanning procedures
• Turbo Suite, a software package that allows users to customize speed applications for scanning various regions of the body without compromising image quality
