Paramed changes name to ASG Superconductors USA

ASG Superconductors changed the name of its U.S. subsidiary Paramed Medical Systems to ASG Superconductors USA.

The new name strengthens the link between the U.S. market and the Italian parent company, the firm said.

During RSNA 2019, ASG Superconductors is showcasing MROpen EVO, the latest version of its helium-free MRI system that has new operating software, a new digital spectrometer, new coils, and new sequences.

MROpen EVO's magnet is wide open on top, in front, and behind the patient so that no one is confined within the tight space of a conventional MRI. Patients may be imaged standing, sitting, bending, or lying down.

The MRI machine allows "high-temperature superconductivity" and, therefore, a cryogen-free operation.

The firm completed three new installations in North America and has secured one more in early 2020.
