AHA releases statement on imaging in cancer patients

The American Heart Association (AHA) has issued a statement to provide guidance on the use of cardiac imaging in cancer patients undergoing therapy, which it published recently in Circulation.

Echocardiography should be the first-line imaging modality used for assessing cardiac function in patients receiving treatment that can lead to cancer therapy-related cardiac dysfunction, according to the AHA.
