Radiation therapy developer Alliant Medical Technologies of Norwood, MA, posted a second-quarter increase in revenue against its second-quarter numbers in 2000. The firm recorded revenues of $1.5 million in the period (end-June 30), up 23% compared with sales of $1.2 million in the same quarter last year. However, the company posted a net loss of $2.4 million, compared with a loss of $1 million in the same period in 2000.
Alliant, formerly known as UroMed, recently acquired Chico, CA-based cancer- treatment software developer SSGI Prowess. The second-quarter financials reflect amortization charges of intangible assets recorded as part of the deal and an increased employee base in the sales, software development, and customer support areas, according to Alliant CEO Dan Muscatello.
