RITA Medical Systems reported that a presentation at the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE) 2004 meeting showed positive results from colorectal metastatic cancer patients treated with radiofrequency ablation.
A prospective multicenter trial, presented by Dr. Riccardo Lencioni of the University of Pisa in Italy, found survival rates in these patients to be 86%, 47%, and 24% after one year, three years, and five years, respectively, according to the Mountain View, CA-based firm.
