Radiation therapy firm North American Scientific (NAS) reported fiscal second-quarter revenues of $9.1 million, up 163% compared with the $3.5 million posted in the second quarter of 2004. For the period (end-April 30), the Chatsworth, CA-based firm had a net loss of $3.9 million, compared with a net loss of $3.9 million last year.
NAS attributed the revenue gains primarily to its 2004 acquisition of Nomos. President and CEO Michael Cutrer said that the company is confident it's in a position to grow its revenue base with planned new product introductions later this fiscal year. NAS continues to focus on sales growth and profitability, and has made significant changes to strengthen its financial position and allow for continued growth, Cutrer said.
