Oncology device developer RITA Medical Systems of Fremont, CA, has launched the Vortex EZ and Vortex EZ MAX infusion ports.
The ports are MRI-compatible and have a silicone construction base designed to make implantation easier, with a low-profile shape for patient comfort, RITA said. The new plastic ports are part of the Vortex EZ Port Infusion System, which has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in cases where repeated access to a patient's vascular system or other selected body sites is required, according to RITA.
