Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has unveiled its Aria oncology information system for cancer clinics.
Aria, a real-time management system and database product, integrates image processing and treatment machine controls for all types of radiotherapy, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor. It can manage comprehensive cancer treatment centers, as well as standalone radiation oncology or medical oncology departments in hospitals and clinics, Varian said.
In other introductions, Varian is debuting Dynamic Adaptive Radiotherapy (DART) at this week's American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in Denver. DART uses up-to-date image data to adapt patient treatment based on changes in tumor shape, size, and position, Varian said.
